A small gallery for the pets we love

Pawtrait is a small, independent team of dog and cat people. We have the camera rolls to prove it: thousands of photos of the same few faces, most of them slightly blurry because somebody moved.

We wanted one of those faces on the wall in a proper portrait. What we found was a lot of ordering blind: pay first, wait a week or two, hope the proof looks like your pet. So we built the thing we wanted instead.

A portrait of your pet is only worth anything if it's unmistakably them: the crooked ear, the patch over one eye, that particular look. You are the only judge of that, so you should judge it before any money changes hands. Every portrait here is free to preview. You pay only if you want to keep it.

We also promise a few boring, important things: one-time payments with no subscription, no charge when a portrait fails, and a free reprint if a canvas arrives damaged.

Plainly: Portraits are made with AI from your photo, not painted by hand. We use an image model with strict written likeness rules and six styles we tested on real pets. No human painter is involved, and we will never pretend otherwise. That's why it takes a minute instead of a month, and why it costs a fraction of a commission.
